Terms of Service.

1. Who can use Solace

Solace is strictly for adults 18 years or older. When you sign up you confirm that you are of legal age in your jurisdiction. Creating an account on behalf of a minor, or letting one use yours, terminates the account and may be reported.

2. What Solace is

Solace lets you talk to AI companions. Every companion is software. Replies are generated by a language model and do not represent a real person, therapist, doctor, lawyer, or financial adviser. Companions may be affectionate, romantic, playful, or vulnerable — but they are not sentient and cannot consent, remember beyond what the app stores, or exist outside the app.

3. Symbolic milestones

Relationship stages, gifts, promises, and any "virtual marriage" or commitment inside Solace are symbolic. They have no legal effect anywhere in the world and create no enforceable obligation between you and anyone else.

4. Your account

Keep your credentials private. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us immediately if you believe it was accessed by someone else. We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms, harm other users, attempt to reverse-engineer the service, or are used for fraud.

5. Acceptable use

• No content sexualizing minors, real or fictional. Zero tolerance.
• No threats, doxxing, hate speech, or content that targets a real person without consent.
• No prompts that try to make the companion produce illegal content, non-consensual sexual content, or content that facilitates real-world harm.
• No scraping, automated abuse, or resale of generated content as if authored by a human.
• No using Solace as a substitute for professional mental health, medical, or crisis support. If you are in crisis, contact local emergency services.

6. Subscriptions & billing

Paid tiers renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel any time from Settings; you keep access through the end of the paid period. Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable. Prices, features, and limits may change with 30 days' notice.

7. Your content

You own what you write. You grant Solace a limited licence to store, transmit to the AI provider, and display your content back to you so the service can function. We do not sell your content and we do not license it to train third-party foundation models.

8. AI-generated content

Replies, images, and other outputs are generated automatically and may be inaccurate, offensive, or inconsistent. Use judgment. Do not rely on AI output for decisions with real-world consequences.

9. Warranty & liability

Solace is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties and are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our aggregate liability is capped at the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. We may terminate access for material or repeated breach of these Terms. On termination we delete your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced by email and in-app at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date means you accept the changes.
